Patient FAQs
About Our Practice
-
Dynamic Mental Health of New England provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and medication management using a holistic, patient-centered approach for children, adolescents, and adults. During medication management visits, brief supportive counseling may be provided when clinically appropriate. We do not offer full-length psychotherapy sessions.
-
We provide care for children, adolescents, and adults ages 7 through 70. We work with individuals experiencing a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, and other psychiatric conditions.
-
Our primary focus is medication management. Some supportive counseling may be included as part of a medication management follow-up visit when clinically indicated, but we do not provide ongoing weekly psychotherapy. We are happy to collaborate with your therapist or provide referrals if you are seeking regular therapy.
Appointments & Visits
-
Yes. We offer secure telehealth appointments as well as in-person visits. Telehealth services are provided in accordance with state and federal regulations and clinical appropriateness.
-
Your initial appointment will include a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation that considers your symptoms and concerns, medical and mental health history, current and past medications, and life stressors and treatment goals. Based on this information, a personalized and holistic treatment plan will be developed.
-
Initial evaluations are typically longer than follow-up visits. Follow-up appointments are scheduled based on clinical need and your treatment plan.
-
Follow-up frequency is based on your clinical needs and treatment plan and will be discussed with your provider.
Medications
-
Yes, when clinically appropriate. All medication decisions are made collaboratively between you and your provider as part of your overall treatment plan.
-
Controlled medications are prescribed only when clinically appropriate and in accordance with state and federal regulations. Additional policies may apply for patients receiving these medications.
-
Medication refills are typically addressed during scheduled appointments. Refill requests outside of visits are processed according to practice policy. Certain medications may require an appointment for renewal.
Insurance & Payment
-
We accept many commercial insurance plans and also offer self-pay options. Please contact our office to verify your insurance coverage and discuss payment options prior to your appointment.
-
Payment is expected at the time of service. Additional policies regarding fees and billing are reviewed with patients prior to treatment.
-
Appointments must be cancelled or rescheduled within the required notice period. Missed appointments and late cancellations may be subject to a fee according to practice policy.
Privacy & Coordination of Care
